Museums, City Hall… A selection of venues to hire from Paris City Council.

Rent reception rooms at City Hall

You can hire the reception rooms at Paris City Hall to host private events such as receptions or fashion shows. For a not-for-profit or municipal event, you can use the rooms for free, subject to agreement by Paris City Council.

The rates for hiring the Third Republic reception rooms are calculated on the basis of prices charged by prestigious Parisian venues with equivalent surface areas and capacity, such as the major municipal museums, the Opera Garnier or the Louvre Museum.
To hire the Salle des Fêtes festival room (800 m2): 6,000 Euros an hour (4 to 6 hours’ occupation) and 5,000 Euros an hour for 7 to 12 hours’ occupation.
The more modestly sized Jean-Paul-Laurens room (150 m2) can be hired for 2,000 Euros an hour (4 to 6 hours’ occupation) or 1,500 Euros (7 to 12 hours’ occupation).
For very big events, companies can hire the 1,775 m2 space of the Salle des Fêtes, the Arcades room and the Georges-Bertrand and Jean-Paul-Laurens rooms for a sum of 15,000 or 12,000 Euros.

Requests must be made in writing, providing as many details as possible: company name of the organiser (or the client when the request comes from a service provider), purpose, type of event (dinner, cocktail, symposium....), number of people expected, date and duration of the event.

Hold a reception in a Parisian museum

 You can hold receptions and host private events at most Parisian museums. Conditions depend directly on the museums and therefore differ between museums.


Bourdelle Museum

The Bourdelle Museum is one of the rare examples of the artists’ developments that flourished in the last century in the Montparnasse district. With a history stretching back a hundred years, today it remains a unique and poetic inhabited space.

Capacity and useable area
• Plaster Cast Room – 500 m2

Museum of Romantic Life

At the heart of the Nouvelle Athènes district, the Scheffer-Renan mansion at no. 16 rue Chaptal, in the 9th arrondissement, has been home to the Museum of Romantic Life of the City of Paris since 1987.

The workshop-reception room is available for private hire, along with its library built up over four generations: Scheffer, Renan, Psichari and Siohan.

The Petit Palais

 Choose the Petit Palais, the Museum of Fine Arts of the City of Paris , for cocktails, gala dinners, launch evenings or private tours, and benefit from a prestigious setting of great historical interest at the heart of the capital. You are sure to appreciate its recently renovated décor and enjoy the painted ceilings and artistic ironwork, as well as the mosaics and stained glass windows. In the summer, you can enhance your event by providing access to the internal garden at the centre of the peristyle. Spaces can be made available from Tuesday to Sunday, from 6 pm. On Thursdays, during temporary exhibitions, spaces are only available from 8 pm. On Monday, when the museum is closed, spaces are available all day.

•  South Gallery and South Pavilion dimensions: South Gallery 484m2 (12.95 x 35m) South Pavilion 156m2 (14 x 20m) Covering 640 m2, with capacity for 300 people seated and 600 standing, the south pavilion and gallery are a prestigious setting for an exceptional evening, with their large picture windows overlooking the Grand Palais, the Seine or the peristyle.

•  The permanent collections on the Ground Floor The museum offers a huge range of art. On a private tour you can discover the whole Ground Floor: collections from the 18th century collections and Paris 1900, with decorative arts, Gauguin and Cézanne. You are also sure to appreciate the 19th-century collections, ranging from the naturalism of Roll or the realism of Courbet, through Dalou and Doré, to the impressionism of Monet, Sisley, Pissaro…

The Carnavalet Museum

Hold a reception at the Carnavalet Museum . Located at the heart of Le Marais, the Carnavalet Museum and gardens are an ideal venue to hold your receptions.

3 parts of this listed historic site can be hired for parties:

• the 2 Salles des Enseignes (Sign Rooms) offer the atmosphere of the streets of Old Paris for a picturesque and colourful evening
• in the Bouvier room, the refined Parisian 18th-century décor creates an ideal setting for a prestigious reception
• the colourful gardens with their several hundred plant species will delight your guests at a garden party, in the middle of the most beautiful mansion in Le Marais, with an architectural history spanning five centuries.

The Museum of the History of Paris, with its seemingly endless range of collections (paintings, sculptures, decorative art and art objects) can host your cocktail parties, dinners or tours during closing times (after 6 pm) and all day on Monday.

The Museum of Modern Art

Located at the heart of Paris along the Seine, between the Champs-Élysées and the Eiffel Tower, the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris  is based in an exceptional building, built for the Universal Exhibition of 1937. The Museum houses a large collection of modern and contemporary artworks, and is also internationally renowned for its temporary exhibitions.

Room 1. Fauvism/Cubism

Cernuschi Museum

The Cernuschi Museum , the museum of Asian art of the City of Paris, specialises in Chinese art and archaeology, from its origins to the 13th century.
On the first floor, cocktails and various receptions are held in the majestic Grand Buddha room amid the exhibits, as well as in the other rooms dedicated to the permanent collection. They all directly overlook the trees of Monceau Park.
The museum has room for up to 300 people (cocktail option) and 120 people for a sit-down dinner.

Dinner and cocktail parties take place in the Grand Buddha room; the other rooms are reserved for tours. Seminars, conferences and projections take place in the conference room next to the Grand Buddha room, on the same floor.
For safety reasons, the number of people allowed in the conference room is restricted to 50 people.
Private tours of the current exhibition can also be organised.

Zadkine Museum

A stone’s throw from the Jardin du Luxembourg, nestling in its verdant garden, the Zadkine Museum is a charming creative place dedicated to the memory of the sculptor, with a feeling of seclusion that adds to its visitors’ sense of enchantment.

A late 19th-century house contains the museum, formerly the sculptor’s workshop and home. The central body contains three modest-sized rooms on the ground floor and an upstairs area (not accessible to the public, reserved for conservation), overlooked by a sloping tiled roof. At the centre is a small veranda. The right wing consists of a huge glazed room and two workshops with large glass roofs. The garden workshop with glass roofs dates from the 50’s. Zadkine decided to build it to work on large sculptures and receive pupils there.

The Maison de Balzac

Located at the centre of the former village of Passy, of which it constitutes one of the last remnants, the Maison de Balzac occupies the outbuildings of a “Folly”, the origins of which go back to the late 18th century. Pursued by his creditors, Balzac found refuge there on 1 October 1840.
Now a literary museum, the Maison de Balzac has displays of portraits and personal effects of the writer, works relating to his family and contemporaries, and a large number of literary documents.
The Maison de Balzac covers three floors between Rue Raynouard and Rue Berton. On the first floor, Balzac’s apartment overlooks a garden which has a view of Rue Berton and the Hotel de Lamballe in the south. The other rooms of the museum are located on the bottom floor. On the third and final floor, on the Rue Berton side, the library occupies a room with stone walls and exposed beams of around 60m2. It opens onto an inner courtyard.

The Maison de Balzac only hosts business events (conferences, seminars…).
Opening times
The Maison de Balzac can host receptions from Monday to Sunday, subject to availability. The museum is open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm from Tuesday to Sunday (except bank holidays). It is therefore preferable for receptions to take place outside of these opening times.

You can hire parts of the parks and gardens of the city of Paris


Bagatelle Park (16th arrondissement)
This gem, bought by the City of Paris in 1905, is famous for its rose garden. An exceptional place where all styles of the art of gardening can be seen. The 240 m² orangery has capacity for between 200 and 400 people. Buffets, dinners and concerts can be held here, depending on how the space is arranged.
It is available for hire between 16 May and 14 October.
The capacity of the gallery (Seine side) varies according to the surface area occupied.
Conferences, debates, projections, dinners and receptions can be held here all year round except during exhibitions.

At the edge of the Bois de Boulogne, the Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil combines the charm of 19th-century architecture and the riches of a botanical garden.

The 320 m² azalea pavilion has room for 250 people, for events such as concerts or conferences.
It can be hired between 15 May and 15 October.

André-Citroën Park (15th arrondissement)
A major project of the late 20th century, André-Citroën Park has a large lawn that stretches as far as the Seine, and offers a series of gardens with contrasting atmospheres amongst its water features.

The 625 m² orangery greenhouse has room for around 600 people for exhibitions, cocktail parties, meetings, conferences, fashion shows, etc.
The greenhouse is available all year round.
From 15 May to 15 October, you can enjoy the plants that are kept indoors in the winter.

There are three other municipal venues available for private hire. These are the Charléty Stadium, Les Trois Baudets and Le Centquatre.


Charléty Stadium
Charléty Stadium  (13th arrondissement) is available for hire for not-for-profit and business events, as well as for filming.
With four prestigious modular rooms and a range of facilities (catering facilities and changing rooms), Charléty Stadium is the ideal venue for all your events: meetings, seminars, cocktail buffets, general meetings, trade shows, product launches, etc.

Charléty Stadium is also available for filming (films, advertisements, etc.) and photo sessions. The main pitch, terraces, changing rooms and walkways will help you recreate a sporty and/or team atmosphere.

We can also provide all the technical equipment needed to meet your most specific requirements: free Wi-Fi connection, projection screen, plasma TV, video projector, overhead projector, sound system, microphone, office furniture, paper board, etc.

Les Trois Baudets

Standing between Pigalle and Blanche, at the corner of Boulevard de Clichy and Rue Coustou, Les Trois Baudets is located behind the façade of an Art Deco building. This is a legendary venue for French popular music performances.

Le Centquatre  is a city artistic establishment based in a huge 19th-centry building which used to house the Municipal Funeral Service.
It has been made completely modular, allowing you to hold all types of events there:
- Fairs, conferences, product launches
- Business seminars and meetings
- Gala evenings, cocktails
- Artistic events (concerts, fashion parades etc.)
